#WILDERNESS50 - #YOURWILDERNESS is managed by a passionate set of BLM staff, volunteers and partners

California is fortunate to be home to an extensive part of the wilderness system.  We have it all here - from the majestic coast of the King Range to the stark beauty of the desert’s Mecca Hills.  And most importantly we have a passionate set of BLM staff, volunteers, and partners who are devoted to ensuring that these areas are managed in the best interest of current and future generations. We have come a long way in the last 50 years and we will continue to preserve these special places while highlighting their importance. — Jim Kenna, BLM California State Director

"People come up to me in London. It’s weird, since it’s bigger over here, you’d expect more people to come up to me, but actually in London, I get more people. I think over here people are so used to seeing someone off the TV or movies that they just don’t really care. But in London it’s kind of rare."
